Bremen - A strong sign of active environmental protection and sustainable commitment: As part of the company's own VITA FOREST reforestation project, Vitakraft and 30 employees planted around 1,800 young trees in the Harz Mountains in April. They were supported by the Lower Saxony State Forests and the local forest ranger team.
The project area in the Harz Mountains in Lower Saxony was selected due to the massive forest damage caused by drought, storms and bark beetles. The aim is to develop a climate-stable mixed forest on an initial two-hectare area - as a long-term contribution to strengthening ecological diversity and adapting forests to climate change.
"The planting campaign was a complete success - both professionally and personally," explains Anna Schulze-Smidt, Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs at Vitakraft. "Planting 1,800 Douglas firs in just a few hours is a strong symbol of our commitment. At the same time, the active involvement of our employees makes sustainability a tangible and tangible part of our company."
In addition to the environmental aspect, the focus was also on the shared experience: employees from production, logistics and administration traveled together to the Harz Mountains to actively participate. "This project shows how much team spirit and sustainability belong together," says Dr. Thomas Jung, Head of People & Culture at Vitakraft. "Our colleagues were highly motivated - and many have already announced that they will be taking part in future care campaigns."
From 2026, annual maintenance campaigns are planned with Vitakraft employees to help the trees grow and support the development of the VITA FOREST in the long term.
